Have you ever used GEMM.COM? The purpose is different (sales) but it would
seem to be a good paradigm for what you seek to do. It still doesn't solve
the issues of 'moderating' and verification of submissions, however.

Thanks: I had some thoughts about that, particularly for "free form"
information but I believe that it is important to have a disciplined
approach to the core data to avoid the problem(s) that seem to plague
similar indices. Yet it will be a few more months before the
proverbial kimono can be lifted a little for some very advanced,
early testing. I hope. I need to chivvy the developer along first !
