Sheet music

UO has a large collection of sheet music, and users who demand that the
music open flat for use on music stands.  We avoid shelving as-is when
items are received with spiral or Velo bindings, and are looking for a
quick, cheap and durable binding format that maintains openability. How
are other libraries coping?  Leave the binding but reinforce cover?
Commercial bind?  We use staples on our pamphlet binders, which doesn't
do much for openability but keeps the workflow current.
