Subject: Sealed buildings
I have a question and would very much appreciate any information which anyone can provide. We are planning a new building and I would like to know of any examples of successful combinations of air-conditioned areas and open window areas in the same building. Although no one disputes the need for climate control for the collections, people are not enthusiastic about working in an air-conditioned environment. Our climate is moderate, without extremes of temperature. Generally the conditions outside are very pleasant. We have one building which is sealed and the occupants have always hated it. I'd like to know of any buildings (recent and/or satisfactory) where the collections are kept in an air-conditioned space but where the areas where people work have windows which open. Thanks very much for your help. Suzanne Dodson *** Conservation DistList Instance 4:56 Distributed: Sunday, April 28, 1991 Message Id: cdl-4-56-013 ***Received on Friday, 26 April, 1991
