Subject: Recycled paper
Has anyone seen reports in the literature, or done studies themselves, on the effects of recycled paper vis a vis the whole acidity, deterioration question? I have noticed lately that a few of the small, literary presses are starting to use recycled paper for some of their publications, and I wonder what the preservation situation is likely to be for these. Also, many associations are printing their newsletters on recycled papers, which is fine for those who treat their copies as ephemera. I suppose for those of us who try to keep such stuff, it will just add to the list of titles we have to microfilm.
