Subject: Book course
Dear Walter, Please post the following notice on the conservation distlist. (It is from Susan Swartzburg.) Thanks. Janet Riemer Cheryl Shackleton, Mellon Intern for Preservation, New York Public Library, will be teaching a course on bookmaking for minority high school students August 12-16 at the Center for Book Arts, New York City. Through the creation of several styles of books and pamphlets using personal items, such as letters, photographs and other belongings, students will explore their cultural identity through the medium of the book. The books created by the students will be exhibited at the Center during September. This project is funded by members of the Center; contributions to support, perhaps even continue this project, are welcome: Center for Book Arts, 626 Broadway, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10012. The library community should foster this effort to foster the book. *** Conservation DistList Instance 5:10 Distributed: Thursday, July 18, 1991 Message Id: cdl-5-10-004 ***Received on Thursday, 18 July, 1991
