Rescube

In case this information hasn't yet reached you yet, there is a great
new product on the market--the "Rescube."  It's a corrugated
high-density polyethylene collapsible box designed specifically for
salvaging wet library materials.  The boxes are lightweight, stable from
-60 degrees to 160 degrees F., and durable even when filled with
water-soaked books.  They have just been tested by American Freeze-Dry.
Loaded and stacked 7 high, some full, and some half-full, they neither
bowed nor failed in any other way.  Boxes are approximately 12 x 15 x
10", accommodate both books and files, and are well designed and
reusable.

They were developed by Linda Nainis (former preservation librarian,
Georgetown University Law Library), working with librarians,
conservators, and box designers.  Her number at Protext:  301-718-1659.
Prices range from $4.40 to $6.30 per box depending on quantity ($5.60
each for an order of between 100 and 499).  They're nice!
