Subject: Opportunity for conservation technician sought
I am interested knowing more about any conservation technician positions that are now, or will be, available in the western half of the United States. I have a student who has been working for the Princeton University Libraries' Collections Conservation Unit for the past four years. During this time she, Victoria, has developed a good repertoire of conservation treatments, and the understanding necessary to makes correct treatment decisions. Victoria has very good hand skills, an exceptional work ethic, and she is more productive than any employee I have ever had before. Victoria is graduating from Princeton with a degree in art history. I have tried everything I can think of to keep her here, but her heart is in the west--particularly the southwest. Since I cannot keep her here, I want to show her my appreciation for her fine work by doing whatever I can do to help her reach her two goals of (1) getting a conservation technician job where she can work and develop more conservation skills and knowledge, and (2) moving west. If anyone has any interest in knowing more about Victoria, or if you know of any conservation technician openings, please contact me directly. Thank you very much. Brian J.
