Subject: Use of digital images
The Electronic Imaging Technologies Committee of the American Library Association's Reproduction of Library Materials Section is gathering background information to develop an ALA conference program on the use of digital materials by scholars and others. We are interested in user reactions to electronic imaging technology and how this technology has impacted on the research process. Specifically, we would like to find out who is using digitized information, how it is being using, whether electronic access to materials is an effective and acceptable alternative to paper and microform and how the information requirements and habits of scholars in various disciplines are changing with this technology. We are interested in hearing from libraries, archives and museums that are currently or have previously been involved with electronic imaging projects to digitize materials in your collections.
