Crack & Peel labels

Does anyone have any information/advice about specs for crack & peel
labels suitable for sending through a laser printer?   The label are to
be placed on storage boxes and folders, so reversibility is not an
issue.  What I am looking for is a stable adhesive that will not
deteriorate.  It seems that many of the adhesives used for crack & peel
labels either cause staining and/or dry up and then the labels fall off.
Certainly paper stock is an issue, but it seems that the proper adhesive
is more problematic.
