Subject: Ceramics gopher and mailing list
While wandering around the Net, I stumbled upon two resources that may be of interest. The SDSU Ceramics Gopher is found at Name=The Ceramics Gopher Type=1 Port=70 Path=1/SDSU Campus Topics/Art/The Ceramics Gopher Host=athena.sdsu.edu About the SDSU Ceramics Gopher: The SDSU Ceramics Gopher is an experimental database of glazes. The current database is a test for a larger database that is being compiled by the GlazeBase Working Group of the National Council for Education in the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) and which will be available in the near future. Plans also include the creation of a claybody database and a material analyses database. If you would like to contribute to this growing resource, we would welcome your contributions and your comments on the Ceramics Gopher. Ceramics Gopher comments & inquiries - please send e-mail to Richard Burkett at: rburkett [at] ucssun1__sdsu__edu GlazeBase comments & inquiries - please send regular mail to: Bob Feder, 5 Arvidale Rd. Warren, NJ 07059-7005 We would like to thank Val Cushing of the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred, NY for his generous donation of the initial group of carefully edited cone 6 and 10 glazes. PLEASE NOTE: If you choose to make use of any of these glaze recipes, please understand that you do so at your own risk. Ceramic materials carry unique hazards of which the ceramist should be aware. There are many very helpful books on the subject of arts hazards - please consult them if you have any questions about the safety of any materials mentioned herein. The GlazeBase group, all persons associated with the Ceramics Gopher, and SDSU can take no responsibility for the safety or success of any of these recipes. Permission is given only for non-commercial use of these recipes. There is also a mailing list, ClayArt CLAYART is a forum for discussion of issues relating to clay.
