  Welcome to ERECS-L, the Electronic Records Listserv.  The listserv,
  formally identified as ERECS-L@ALBNYVM1, is hosted by the State
  University of New York at Albany and managed by the Electronic Records
  Roundtable of the Society of American Archivists.  You may have
  already received notification of your membership on the list from the
  SUNY at Albany computer.  Consider this the official notification of
  list membership.  The list provides an opportunity for archivists and
  other information professionals to share information that will advance
  the ability of institutions to make information in  electronic form
  available, understandable, and useable as long as it is needed.

  PURPOSE OF THE LISTSERV: To provide a forum for discussion of ideas
  techniques, and issues associated with the management and preservation
  of electronic records.  Also to provide a vehicle for the electronic
  distribution of publications, newsletters, and grey literature
  associated with managing electronic records.  This list is unique
  because its focus is exclusively electronic records and the issues
  that surround them.

  AUDIENCE/PARTICIPANTS: Archivists working in all institutional
  settings, students studying archival administration, data archivists,
  data librarians, and other information professionals who can benefit
  from or contribute to an ongoing discussion of electronic records
  issues.

  LIST MANAGEMENT/OVERSIGHT: The list will be moderated by a member of
  the SAA Electronic Records Roundtable.  Postings should contribute to
  the purposes and goals of the list and conform to generally accepted
  network etiquette requirements.

  DISCLAIMER: The opinions and views expressed on this list and the
  information provided by participants and sponsors do not necessarily
