ArtWatch International presentation

ArtWatch International's director, James Beck, will be speaking at an
open meeting of the Art Students League of New York at 6:00 pm,
Thursday, November 18, 1993. His presentation will center on a book he
has recently published with Michael Daley titled "Art Restoration: The
Culture, the Business, the Scandal."

Beck, an art history professor at Columbia University, is an outspoken
critic of what he has called the conservation and restoration
"establishment" and its priorities and interests.
