Subject: Tips on reading DistList
In private mail, someone asked for advice on browsing through the DistList. You have probably noticed that each item in a DistList mailing has the tag "Date: " at the start of a line so if your mail reader permits searching you can use that. For example, many Unix mail readers use a "pager" (such as "more" or "less" (Unix has lovely names, no?)), and you can type /^Date: (and hit return) to search for the start of a new message. You only need to type the full string the first time; after that just hit "/" (without the quotes, and with a return) to repeat the search. Other systems provide similar functions. Check your documentation. Hope this helps. w *** Conservation DistList Instance 7:53 Distributed: Saturday, January 22, 1994 Message Id: cdl-7-53-004 ***Received on Saturday, 22 January, 1994
