Carved wooden relief

I would definitely advise against applying any oil to the relief, since this
might make later repairs with adhesives very difficult, if not impossible.
I would suggest to seal the relief in an airtight container (a vapour barrier
plastic bag will probably do) with a humidity buffer pre-conditioned to the
desired humidity.
