Subject: Posters and postcards about food in libraries
The Cornell University Library Department of Preservation and Conservation has produced 2 postcards and a poster pointing out the dangers associated with having food and drink in the libraries. These resulted from a university wide poster competition sponsored by the department. The competition was very successful resulting in numerous entries. It also created a broad awareness across the University of the problems associated with having food and drink in libraries and archives. The designer of the winning poster was Cindy Rosen (formerly of the Cornell University Press) and the postcards were designed by Risa Mednick and Steve Dinneen (Publications, Dept. of International Agriculture / Cornell University Press). The winners were presented with checks for $100 by the University Librarian, an event recorded by the local press. Posters are available for $12.00 ea. Postcards are available at $1.00 for 5. These prices reflect the cost of production and s/h. For more information, please contact Peter Verheyen, Book Conservator, at 607/255-2484 or pdv1 [at] cornell__edu Peter D.
