Subject: Preserving scent
No snide comments, Walter (at least on the List). Perfumes are usually volatile oils or substances dissolved in volatile oils. You might be able to keep these materials whin the volume of the book by a mylar capsule. However I'm not sure that keeping the volatiles suspended and not deposited on the paper qualifies as preservation. The first opening would lose most of it. Such a sealed book is also virtually unusable. You have a wonderful dilemma. Have Fun! *** Conservation DistList Instance 7:75 Distributed: Monday, April 18, 1994 Message Id: cdl-7-75-004 ***Received on Friday, 15 April, 1994
