Subject: Food and drink in the library
I know this has been discussed many times, but I would certainly appreciate opinions, experience, and thoughts on the question of allowing food and drink in the library. While our library does not "officially" allow food and drink, students inevitably bring them in, and the policy seems unenforceable. Also, there is great student dissatisfaction with the policy. It seems that some arrangements will have to be made to accommodate their desires. What, if any of you have come up with sound (from a preservation perspective) ways to address this issue? Any thoughts, advice, etc. will be welcome. Thanks. **** Moderator's comments: If folks would send their policies on stuff like this to CoOL we could save an awful lot of repetition.
