Subject: Joint Library Binding/Vendor Relations meeting at ALA
The (ALA) Library Binding Discussion Group and Library Vendor Relations Discussion Group are combining efforts for the summer ALA meeting and are looking for panel discussion participants. The focus of this joint discussion group is commercial conservation binding services that libraries and museum can contract for. The purpose of the panel discussion is: * to describe various services provided to clients, * discuss what is unique about the services and underlying philosophy. Each vendor will get 5-10 minutes. Then the floor will be open to comments about needs and perceived services that the Preservation Departments would like to contract for. Samples of work or specific techniques can be displayed. The meeting will take place during the time set aside for the Library Binding Discussion group at the annual ALA conference in Miami on Saturday June 25, 1994 from 2-4 pm in the Miami Beach Convention Center room c227. Please let us know by June 3, 1994, if you are interested in participating.
