Subject: Acetate foil
John Boral <p00294 [at] psilink__com> writes >>This Acetate foil acts as a flue which melts under heat (360 F) and >>pressure. It is used to laminate documents and sandwich a document >>under repair between 2LX tissue. Is the acetate foil the same thing William Barrow used in his lamination process or something similar to it? The brief description of the use being made of the foil sounds very much like descriptions of Barrow's process in which case it might be well to begin with the Virginia State Library or Archives in Richmond, or with one of the individual state archival agencies which have used Barrow's process through the years.
