Subject: ALA Program on preservation education
Make room on your ALA schedule for what promises to be an exciting and interesting program on preservation education. "Selling Preservation: What to Say to the Customer" will be sponsored by PLMS (Preservation of Library Materials Section) and LIRT (Library Instruction Round Table) on Monday, June 27, 2-5 pm at the Miami Beach Convention Center, D 233-234. The program will present practical strategies for integrating preservation education and awareness into library instruction, exhibits, and promotional material in all types of libraries. An exhibit area will highlight successful approaches used by libraries to promote preservation education. The speakers include representatives from public, school and academic libraries. Peggy Sullivan, from ALA Headquarters, will be the keynote speaker, along with Anne L. Reynolds (Wellesley Free Library), Cheryl Holland (Washington University, St. Louis), and Lorraine L. Olley (Indiana University). Tim Grimes (Loving Branch, Ann Arbor Public Library) and Jeanne Drewes (Pittsburgh Regional Library Center) will introduce each speaker with roll playing scenarios which will highlight management challenges within libraries when implementing preservation education instruction or programs. *** Conservation DistList Instance 8:2 Distributed: Friday, June 17, 1994 Message Id: cdl-8-2-009 ***Received on Tuesday, 14 June, 1994
