Subject: Storage cases with environmental control
Some people have built individual storage cases with environmental controls in them. Stefan Michalski of CCI is one that comes to mind. At the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Arthur Beale has engineered the environmental conditioning separately of the new Chinese Galleries. Another useful contact would also be Steve Weintraub in New York. Kennedy-Trimnell make a small environmental HVAC Unit which can be attached to a sealed case or cabinet to make a self-contained system. I don't have any personal experience with the Kennedy-Trimnell Units, but Arthur B. does! I think that this sort of approach is more widely needed, especially with utility prices going up all the time! Tom Chase Freer Gallery of Art/Arthur M.
