Subject: California Preservation Internship
The California State Library, through the LSCA program, has funded the California Preservation internship, for which see the job posting below. The internship is funded for this year, for a librarian in California whose institution is willing to offer leave time and to take on a certain amount of preservation consultation and facilitation in its region. The hope is to identify someone with experience in librarianship, who will be able to take full advantage of the information offered to return home and serve as a regional coordinator for preservation activities. Some funding is available for acquiring a basic library of preservation reference materials for that purpose as well. The hope is to develop an annual internship opportunity, which will help build the network of preservation expertise throughout the state. Thus, it is very important to identify a qualified candidate this year to prove the need for the project and make it a success. If you are interested in more information please contact Barclay Ogden, through the sources indicated at the end of the job posting.
