Removing stamping on spine labels

When the amount of lettering to be removed is small, we use an X-acto
knife and gently pick out the gold or other lettering.  This is not
satisfactory for larger areas however so we send it to the bindery for
correction/rebinding.  Call number problems are covered over with a new
label and label lock.
