Book measuring devices

I am interested in devices that are used to measure books in order to
make boxes for the books.  Have used two designs, but there must be
more.  Are book measuring devices sold by anyone?  Did you get one made
locally?  Do you use the same device to measure for both phase boxes and
drop spine boxes?  Any WOW (words of wisdom) appreciated.
