Paige Miracle Box--corrigendum

From: Ellen McCrady <abbeypub>

Not many days ago, I "interpreted" a phrase of the Paige Company about
its "miracle boxes": "virgin kraft acid-free," concluding that these
were not suited for museum or archival storage. Then I saw an ad in the
March Archival Outlook about Paige boxes that are strong, lignin-free,
pH 8-10, with a 3% calcium carbonate buffer. They meet National Archive
specifications. I called them up at 1-800-957-2443. The salesman said
they have been making this new kind for less than six months now. He
did not tell me the price, but he did say they came in 3 sizes, all made
of corrugated cardboard: archival storage boxes for letter and legal
size documents, and larger boxes with handholds, the same size they used
to make. So Paige does have boxes suited for museum and archival
storage.
