Subject: Bird control and outdoor sculpture
I am posting this query on behalf of Carol Sussman, who will not see your responses here. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments regarding bird control strategies in the immediate vicinity of outdoor sculpture? In this specific situation, there is a large overhanging tree providing an attractive roost over a large sculpture. Relocation is apparently not an acceptable option, nor is strategic branch trimming. Spiked metal wire is expected to be ineffective and problematic. Are there any successful and humane "high tech" options (eg. ultrasonic) etc.? Of course, birds are not the only problem with overhanging vegetation, and it is assumed that a frequent maintenance program for both the sculpture and the tree will be implemented.
