Marking books

Acryloid (Paraloid) B72 is used as a varnish to label many artifacts
but most specifically ceramics, furniture and industrial artifacts
in conjunction with isograph/technical markers and inks. Acryloid s
mixed with suitable spirit base to apply. In Europe, acetone is most
commonly used as the solvent.

Would there be any drawbacks to using such a solution to label
books, if not this method would surely provide a more secure (though
easily reversible) means of labelling books than pressure sensitive
products.

Incidentally the Acryloid varnish provides for a clear base onto which
the technical ink (white, blue or black) is applied and then a final
top coat of B72 is applied sealing the text in place. The coating is
removable using the same solvent.
