Reversibility of cellulose acetate lamination

I would be very interested to hear from archivists stuck with the
problem of brittle documents that were laminated with cellulose
acetate in the fifties up to the seventies.  I would like to have an
idea of the number of documents laminated, if it is planned to have
them treated in the near future. If it has been done already, how
was it done (financing, location, procedure, total cost or average
per document), and it what year.  Thank you,
