Please respond directly to Dr. Kenneth Ames <b5ka [at] odin__cc__pdx__edu> and post it here as well This past summer, we recovered pieces of leather from moist (not dry, not water logged, but seasonally moist) deposits. It is likely the leather is approximately 150 to 250 years old. Does any one have suggestions about how to stabilize it so it doesn't rot--chemical treatments etc. Charles Rhyne *** Conservation DistList Instance 9:24 Distributed: Saturday, September 9, 1995 Message Id: cdl-9-24-011 ***Received on Friday, 8 September, 1995
