NEH Division of Preservation & Access

Many readers of this list may have heard rumors about extensive
staff cuts at NEH in anticipation of significant reductions in
administrative funds necessitated by FY96 appropriations soon to be
determined by Congress.  On September 14, all program (not
administrative) staff of the Division of Preservation and Access
were given Certificates of Expected Separation.  Program staff with
seniority in government service will be reassigned from other
divisions to the Division of Preservation and Access from December
4. (Similar cuts are being made in other divisions, but readers of
this list are likely to be primarily interested in what's going on
in P&A.)
