Introduction to Conservation Bookbinding Nov 15-16, 1995 Conservation Lab, Hillman Library, University of Pittsburgh The Pittsburgh Regional Library Center has scheduled a workshop entitled "Introduction to Conservation Bookbinding." The workshop will be taught by Melissa McAfee, Preservation Librarian, University of Pittsburgh. This two day hands-on workshop will provide an introduction to conservation book repair methods and their applications. Each participant will learn how to do a rebacking, a repair method in which the original covers of the book are retained, as well as a complete rebinding. Other simple repairs including cleaning methods, paper repairs, and tip-ins will be covered. Bookbinding supplies and equipment will also be discussed. The course is limited to 8 registrants.
