Subject: Minolta scanner
The University of Otagop Library is considering buying the new Minolta DPCS 3000 digital publication copying system. This is hopefully an archival quality photocopier which allows books to be scanned 'face up' thus eliminiating or at least minimising the spine pressure exerted on books by the 'face down' traditional photocopier. It claims to produce a digital image that retains clarity into the curve of the inside margins, and the image can be downloaded into computer systems. Have any members of the list purchased such a machine, and if so how do they rate its performance?
