Following on from the successful 1995 Institute, the State Library of New South Wales is pleased to announce the 2nd Institute in the Preservation of Library Materials for Preservation Managers from the Asia-Pacific region Friday 2 - Saturday 10 February 1996 State Library of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia Subjects covered in this practical and comprehensive Institute are: Preservation management Counter-disaster planning Environmental control Environmental deterioration Collections Conservation Raising user awareness Replacement/reformatting Preservation microfilming Providing information Exhibition and display Conservation treatments Commercial library binding Preservation digitising Preservation managers, faculty of schools of library and information science, archivists, records managers, and librarians responsible for preservation activities are encouraged to attend. Enrolment is limited to a maximum of 10 internationally selected participants. In 1995, participants came from Brunei, Fiji, Malaysia and Australia. The working language is English. The fee of A$2,800 (excluding accommodation) includes all meals, receptions, Institute Dinner and comprehensive training manual.
