Subject: Adhesives and plumbing problems
The sink pipes in our library have occasionally become clogged. The campus plumber has requested that we cease and desist cleaning brushes in the sink. We have never cleaned glue pots at the sink, when the pots become low we allow the remaining glue to dry and then simply peel out the remnant. We would like to know if other in-house conservation/preservation units have experienced this problem, and if so how have they have dealt with the issue.
