Quick and easy repairs, some of which will not last for an extended period use tape of the type she has found unsatisfactory. For long term repairs, buckram and "C" cloth can be acquired and cut to the size needed. These cloths require the use of adhesive and require drying time after application. Some of the tapes with acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives seem to work at least fairly well. Filmoplast T tape is quite light weight making it unsuitable for use on any but thin, light weight items. Tyvek tape and other pressure sensitive tapes can be used, but are generally best limited to materials with relatively short life or to putting materials into shape to last out a semester or limited period of time before going out for rebinding.
