Subject: PARS Preservation Issues in Small to Mid Sized Libraries Discussion Group
The title for this years PARS (Preservation and Reformatting Section) Discussion Group "Preservation Issues in Small to Mid-sized libraries", to be held at the Annual American Library Association conference in NYC, will be: "Selecting Materials for Preservation Attention: The Who, What, Where and Why of deciding what to save." There will not be a formal agenda and there will be no speakers. This will be a simple exchange of ideas between people who make selection decisions for all sized institutions. Please come prepared to discuss how you make choices on what to save at your library, archives, historical organization, record center or museum. It will be held in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, in the Conrad Salon. It will be on Sunday the 7th, from 2 to 4 pm. Please feel free to cross post this information to any other lists that you think might be interested. Also, we realize that many librarians in small and mid sized libraries do not have access to email and other electronic resources, so if you could spread the word verbally, that would be great too.
