Subject: Epoxy resin systems
Has anyone had experience in the use of micronised silica gel, a.k.a fumed silica (tradename : Gasil 23) as a thickening agent with epoxy resins? The common use of Gasil, which has an average particle size of less than 3 microns seems to be to matte lacquers and glazes used in restoration. This enquiry is posted on behalf of someone not on the list whom is experiencing mixing and application difficulties. Any information relating to articles would be most appreciated.
