Subject: Hair spray as fixative
Regarding the discussion of fixatives on chalk drawings, Michael Maggadan suggested an airbrushed application of a mixture including toluene. Isn't toluene considered carcinogenic? If so, applying it with an airbrush would be particularly dangerous as airborne particles would be breathed in. I suppose a good respirator would minimize problems along with good ventilation. Any comments? Elaine R.S.
