A Call for Conservator-Assessors LC Preservation Awareness Workshop Regular readers of the list will have seen the announcement of LC's Preservation Awareness Workshop to be held on April 21. As part of this event the public will be given the opportunity to bring items for assessments of conservation condition and preservation advice by conservators, and appraisal by Alan Stypeck, Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers. These activities will be held in a room designated for this purpose, and will be open from 9 A.M. until 5 P.M. There will be some taping during the day for later public radio broadcast of "The Book Guys". This event provides conservators with a chance to contribute to LC's preservation outreach event, as well as promote their practice. If you are a qualified conservator interested in volunteering some time to this event, please contact Glen Ruzicka directly for more information at ccaha [at] hslc__org. The assessment program is scheduled as a benefit to the public as part of LC Preservation Workshop. Conservator's participation in the event does not imply endorsement by the Library of Congress.
