Subject: Call For Papers--Polymers in Museums
Final call for papers for "Polymers in Museums", a symposium at the American Chemical Society meeting in Boston, MA, August 23-27, 1998. Papers on the general topic of deterioration or preservation of polymeric materials (particularly synthetic polymers) in museum objects or studies on the use of synthetic polymers in conservation of museum objects are being accepted to fill remaining openings in the symposium. Authors must submit a short abstract and an extended abstract (2-page preprint) by Friday, May 1. The short abstract template is available at <URL:http://www.acs.org/meetings/abstract/absdown.html> (MS Word only) and the preprint form is available at <URL:http://www.psrc.usm.edu/~storey/polypreprints/> (MS Word and WordPerfect). Both preprint and abstract will be submitted electronically; those needing help with these formats should contact the organizer at the address below. Presentations will be about 30 minutes; papers should be new material, although it is acceptable to include material that is in press, recently published in longer articles or previously published in non-scientific journals. Authors retain the right to use the preprint material in future articles. Titles should be sent for approval before preparing the final paper. Titles, questions, requests, should be sent to: Mary T.
