UKIC Furniture Section Study Day at the Tate Gallery Conservation Department Tuesday 29 September 1998 Clifford Deighton, Furniture section member, has organised a visit to the Frames Conservation Section of the Conservation Department of the Tate Gallery, London. The provisional programme will include talks and demonstrations on the techniques of cleaning and gilding surfaces, the examination of frame design and historical detail together with methods of frame repair and conservation. There will also be a short tour of the Paintings Conservation Section. Cost: 6.00 Pounds excluding lunch.
