Our lab currently has a Canadian post-graduate intern (on stipend);
she came in under a J1 visa, since the internship can be considered
continuing education.  In the past, the Museum has brought a
Canadian temporary employee in under the 'Research' category of
NAFTA.   The system is byzantine, but can be manipulated if the need
is there.
