Preservation Officer (Operations and Management Consultant I) Florida Bureau of Archives and Records Management The Bureau of Archives and Records Management of the Florida Department of State is seeking an individual to serve as the Bureau's Preservation Officer and Conservator. The position is responsible for coordinating the Bureau's preservation program as it relates to the collections of the Florida State Archives and the Bureau's Records Management Program. The position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive preservation program for the Archives, including preservation of materials in all formats, management of the Archives conservation lab, reformatting, disaster preparedness, training, and coordination of preservation efforts with other units. The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of archival preservation practices and basic conservation treatments; the ability to coordinate program activities; and the ability to develop and present workshops, presentations and seminars. Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree and two years of professional experience in an archives/library preservation or conservation program or a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience. Preferred Qualifications: A master's degree in archives management or library science and two years of professional experience as a conservator and/or preservation officer in an archives program.
