Conservation and Preservation of Photographs London, 27-29 October 1998 This three day course, run by International Academic Projects covers photographic materials from the 19th century to the present day. Discussions cover the identification of different historical and contemporary processes, the chemistry involved in the original processes and their subsequent deterioration. Problems associated with the preservation of collections in storage and on display are considered and interventive conservation measures introduced in the discussions include: dry and wet treatments, removal of mounts, remounting, duplicating and copying.
