Volunteer Co-ordinator for large technology conservation program The Australian War Memorial maintains a Large Technology Conservation Program which operates in a purpose built workshop at the Treloar C Technology Annex in Mitchell, Canberra. The Program incorporates a very active volunteer workforce and an outgoing and energetic person is needed to co-ordinate this volunteer component. The job will include development of a pool of suitable Volunteers, development and maintenance of a Volunteer Work Program, development and implementation of appropriate Volunteer training and recognition procedures and execution of the administrative requirements of the Program. The work will also involve co-ordinating teams of Volunteers to carry out remedial and preventive conservation procedures for Large Technology Objects, in accordance with the AICCM Professional Code of Ethics and to meet Memorial objectives. The person we are after will have excellent communication skills, a creative and innovative approach to challenges and the ability to motivate others. An interest in and understanding of the conservation of Large Technology Objects is essential. Tertiary qualifications in conservation are desirable. The position is available as a two year contract, at AWM Broadband 3 with a salary range of $30,189 - $41,895 dependent on qualifications and experience. Assistant large technology conservator The Australian War Memorial maintains a Large Technology Conservation Program which operates in a purpose built workshop at the Treloar C Technology Annex in Mitchell, Canberra. Under professional supervision the occupant of this position will assist with the conservation of Large Technology Objects from the Memorial?s collections in preparation for display in the Bradbury Aircraft Hall. The occupant will also supervise a team of volunteers assisting with the conservation work. The person we are after will be a specialist object conservator with experience with Large Technology Objects. You will be energetic and committed in your approach to work and must have good communication skills. You must be able to lead and motivate a team of volunteers who will be working with you on this project. A creative and innovative approach to challenges is essential. The position is anticipated to be available as a one year contract, at AWM Broadband 3 with a salary range of $30,189 - $41,895 dependent on qualifications and experience.
