Assistant Conservator Special Collections and Archives Division Edinburgh University Library As a result of funding obtained from the Research Support Libraries Programme (RSLP), we have a temporary full-time vacancy for a suitably qualified conservator to undertake work on 2 RSLP funded projects. The post is tenable for 18 months in the first instance. The two projects concerned are 'Navigational Aids for the History of Science, Technology and the Environment' (NAHSTE) and 'The Drawn Evidence: Scotland's Development Through its Architectural Archives from Industrialisation to the Millennium, 1780 - 2000' (Rowand Anderson Collection). The latter project involves the conservation of architectural drawings. Both projects are collaborative and some degree of liaison with partner institutions is likely. The postholder should have a recognised qualification in paper conservation and have 2 years experience in a conservation environment or other appropriate relevant experience. Experience of conservation methods for architectural drawings would be advantageous. The post is on the TDG salary scale and the salary range is UKP13,317- UKP15,899 per annum. Placement will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
