North light

My quest is to try to compile some hard facts on why the even,
relatively cool light accorded by windows facing North is preferred
(maybe even essential?!) when considering a new studio for
conservation. I have a tip for an article on the subject in
Burlington Magazine by Herbert Lank (from 1984), but that's it to
date.
