Disaster Preparedness and Recovery There are still spaces left Registration deadline is March 29th for this SOLINET Preservation Workshop: Libraries and archives are vulnerable to a variety of disasters ranging from fires and flooding to roof leaks and mold outbreaks. Through lecture, demonstrations, and a hands-on recovery exercise, this one and a half-day workshop will provide the training necessary to plan, organize and execute a disaster plan and salvage operation. The instructors for this session are Linda Overman, Alabama Dept of Archives & History, and Carol Roberts, Tennessee State Library & Archives. This 1 1/2 day workshop is scheduled for April 12-13, 2000 from 1-4pm Day 1 and 9am-4pm Day 2 at Shelby County Public Library, Memphis, TN. Cost is $135 SOLINET members ($125 early bird, $160 late registration); $175 Non-SOLINET members and FEDLINK ($165 early bird, $200 late registration). Any institution within Tennessee qualifies for the member rate. This workshop is a pre-conference for the Southern Archivists Conference.
