Subject: Isopropanol and plastic sheeting
A colleague who does not subscribe to this list is wondering if anyone can provide some information. He has some large marine specimens which need to be crated. He would like to know which polymer sheeting (5-6 mil) will do the best under conditions of total immersion in 60% isopropanol. Polyethylene, polypropylene, or some other, including sandwiched films. What kind of longevity figures could he get before crazing or embrittlement sets in?
