Topics discussed will include inpainting criteria, light and color theory, pigments and optical phenomena. Participants will learn such inpainting techniques as preparation for compensation: preliminary fills and sizing; wet and dry inpainting and toning systems; application methods and tips. Fee: $675 Registration Deadline: June 9, 2000 One Week to Better Photography August 28 - September 1, 2000 Dwight Primiano Photodocumentation plays a major role in conservation and the study of fine arts but many professionals who use photography are self taught. This intense hands-on workshop will provide all the skills, from simple to complex, necessary for consistent quality photographs under any condition. For the beginner the first day will introduce participants to the basics of 35mm SLR camera selection and operation. Those familiar with camera operation can join the workshop for individual days or a four-day course on photographic methods for two and three dimensional objects and architecture with 35mm and 4 X 5. Slide and black and white photographs produced in the workshop will be critiqued to help identify means to produce accurate photodocumentation with consistent exposures. The results of attending this workshop will be better images and reduced film and processing costs. Fee: $100/ day or $400/week Registration Deadline: July 26, 2000 For more information on either workshop, contact: Shelley Sass, Program Coordinator Conservation Center, New York University 14 East 78th Street, New York, NY 10021 212 772 5848 Fax: 212 772 5851 conservation.program [at] nyu__edu *** Conservation DistList Instance 13:48 Distributed: Friday, March 24, 2000 Message Id: cdl-13-48-025 ***Received on Wednesday, 15 March, 2000
